Valerie Hsiung is the author of three full-length poetry collections: e f g (Action Books, 2016), incantation inarticulate (O Balthazar Press, 2013), and under your face (OBP, 2013). Her poems can be found or are forthcoming in dozens of publications, including The Nation, Denver Quarterly, Poetry Northwest, Pinwheel, Hayden’s Ferry Review, The Fanzine, PEN Poetry Series, American Letters & Commentary, Foundry Journal, Prelude, VOLT, No Dear Magazine, New Delta Review, Tammy, and Yes Poetry.
She has performed her work at Treefort Music Festival, DC Arts Center, Common Area Maintenance, Leon Gallery, Poetic Research Bureau, Casa Libre en la Solana, Rhizome, and The Silent Barn, amongst numerous other venues and stages. Born in Ohio, Hsiung studied literature and translation at Brown University, and is currently based out of New York. She serves as an editor for Poor Claudia.
